Good vid mate. My focus dct450 had a solenoid D and E stuck off. I did a relearn and it came right did 2 hours driving highway speed. Car stalled out at first stop n lost drive. Won’t move just revs. Truck towed it home. Pulled tranny off n found worn discs n a couple plastics breaking in clutch. I’m thinking the solenoids failed n iv wrecked the clutch trying to move the car off the road in drive. These shift forks aren’t supposed to move when you shift the box selector manually because they’re moved by mechatronics magnets wud that be right? I have to commend you I wudnt have rebuilt this tranny at all if I hadn’t watched your videos

Yeah I couldn’t even get the plugs out of my rear diff, they clearly used some kind of loctite or thread sealer on it, I’m going to have to pay people with more tools than me to get it done

Very informative, I attempted a clutch and fork relearn on a dct450 that lost any movement in drive. The relearn failed with codes A and C forks stuck Pulled the tranny out and removed the valve body I’m not sure if the forks and sensors are supposed to visually move while shifting the gear selector thru the gears. Every other mechanism moves manually except the forks. Does that mean they’re actually stuck from the relearn failure. Not sure how it all works with this mechatronics unit

What on the c6 would make first gear almost equal to 2nd. When I'm towing with mine it has no low end torque in first. Thinking maybe band setting?

I am trying to adjust my transmission fluid level and after going for a 50 minute drive. I checked with an infared thermometer and the temperature was only 51°C. I have a bypass valve and external cooler. Not sure where i should fill it to the hot or cold marks? Its a 3.2 everest.

Thanks, I've got the same transmission so I enjoyed this video. To take that temperature with that gun are you just taking the temperature of the side of the transmission with a temp gun ? Does that reflect what the temp would be of the transmission oil ? Do you know what temp the outside of the transmission case should be for this transmission with a temp gun at full operating temperature?

Radius arm bushes where, ball joins etc, but, sway bar rubbers/ & link pins can cause rattles/clunks in front of end, and they don’t need much movement to clink about, you won’t feel the movement much by hand/pry bars, but, 2 ton of vehicle will put those rubbers to the test. Edit, cheap start point compared to ball joints if you can’t feel any movement by hand on Jacks or hoist. If you won’t to see how bad your radius arm bushes are, drive to car on and off the brakes hard to a stop in your driveway, get your mate to stand beside the car and observe how far your front wheels move back into the guards when hard on brakes to stop just at walking speed.more than half inch, get new radius bushes/arms.👌

I watched from video 1 and it is the best video. I have a Mitsubishi Challenger that needs an engine overhaul. It is Automatic so I am assuming this set of videos will apply. The engine is 4D56U.

What happens if that clip comes off and you lose it? That’s the issue I’m dealing with now cause I can’t find another but I don’t want to replace anything cause it’s all still in great shape.

Which solenoid controls the reverse gear please?

Hi there Thanks for this useful videos. We have followed all three parts and did all that you have done to clean the solenoid. When we are trying to put the assembly back into the gear, it doesn't seem to go in and seems something is preventing it. We are not applying force on it, fearing it might break. What you are doing at 6:15 onwards, we are stuck there. Do you know or guide what could be the reason. Would be a great help. Thank you

hello Paul, I've already been there, my TCM or EGS had oil, I cleaned it carefully but since then it's obviously impossible to communicate with BVA etc..... like you my AUTEL no longer communicates it's terrible! and I think it needs to be reprogrammed for it to work??? So to confirm the valve body and all the solenoids got replaced and it still has the same issues of shuddering? Im having a shuddering problem only when the transmission is warmed up about 30mins on a 2016 outlander sport is it even worth the hassle of changing the valve body and possibly having to get the dealership to flash it?
